Being exposed to music from all over the world from a young age led me to appreciate and seek out new sounds, rhythms, and traditions. I am passionate about learning how to create new vibes from the influences I’ve absorbed over my lifetime. I am a believer in the power and potential of combining music and video to add an unspoken gravity to the moving picture. For me, true joy is creating and carving out a body of music to express the message that is felt almost subconsciously by an audience.
Carlos Segovia composes original music as Ghost Ramps and performs with several bands. He can often be found:
1) Out at a show in Portland, Oregon, where the last 14 years of performing and watching music have kept him on his creative toes.
2) In his basement trying to get the sounds in his head recorded.
3) Rehearsing with Orquestra Pacifico Tropical (an 11-piece cumbia dance machine) or MÁSCARAS (a psych-surf-noise trio).
4) At his favorite record stores and music shops.
